Cultural Influences

Many cultural and historic influences can be seen in Simon's artworks. Travel has played an important part as have stories of historic events and the buildings, costumes and objects that remain today. Simon identifies with a number of periods, the medieval, but also the more modern Edwardian or Georgian times. 

These cultural influences can be observed to directly 'translate' into Simon's artistic output and can be seen in the themes and narrative elements that are apparent throughout his paintings. The following sections help to enlighten the viewer in understanding how other cultures interact with the experiences of his own life.
